According the findings of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention led survey done from 2016 to 2018, one-third of Americans suffering from arthritis do no physical workout despite its benefits. Exercise like walking reduces the severity of the disease, give pain relief, and improves health condition. The survey found that the sufferers do physical activities like walking, lifting weights, and gardening.
The new data analysis shows that 67% of US adults suffering from arthritis are engaged in exercise such as walking. The researchers revealed that 33% of people are not engaged in physical activity. Dana Guglielmo, said, there is room for such people for public health action.
Dana Guglielmo urged the people suffering from arthritis to walk as it is low-cost, convenient, and adaptable. He also suggested some other physical activities lime aerobics, muscle strengthening exercises, etc that will be more helpful to get pain relief from. Many Americans suffer from arthritis. The disease is found more often in people over 15 age.The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report released on CDC’s website contains findings of the study.
