Google Shopping App is Out Of Business

The shopping application of Google will be shutting down due to redundancy with what users can already do with the Shopping tab online. Reportedly, Google said that it was ending support for the Shopping app on iOS and Android. The clients plan to work through June. Recently, the company worked towards expanding the shopping functionality through its Search, Image Search, and YouTube.

A Google spokesperson said, “We’ll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the app, that make it easy for people to discover and shop for the products they love.” Version 59 of the App has started to roll out to users with a “something went wrong” message. The report says that there is not much detail on what the message entails for the users. The web and Android interfaces are essentially similar experiences.
