Foldable iPhone Expected to Ship for the First Time in 2023

Apple is working on the first Foldable iPhone, which is expected to be released in 2023, according to credible analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo confirmed the reports about a in a new investor note obtained by 9to5Mac on Monday, saying that the company plans to ship up to 20 million units of this device in its first year of sales.

According to reports, Apple plans to ship between 15 and 20 million Foldable iPhone in 2023. The company is expected to collaborate with Samsung as the exclusive supplier of Foldable OLED displays for the latest iPhone series, the design and specifications of which are still undisclosed.

The analyst previously estimated that the first Foldable iPhone will have a screen between 7.5 and 8 inches, and now he has confirmed that Apple would use an 8-inch Foldable display. Despite the fact that Samsung currently leads the Foldable market, Ming-Chi Kuo claims Apple would have an advantage with the first Foldable iPhone because of its deep “cross-product ecosystem.”

At the moment, the primary function of Foldable smartphones is to combine the functions of a smartphone and a tablet. However, we assume that the Foldable smartphone is just one of the Foldable design’s applications. In the future, we believe that Foldable devices can blur the lines between smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Apple will be the biggest winner in the recent Foldable smartphone trend, thanks to its cross-product ecosystems and hardware design advantages.

Of course, these plans could change by 2023, but it seems likely that Apple is at least considering releasing a Foldable iPhone, given that other phone manufacturers have already released their own solutions.
